At least seven people were killed in a 20-vehicle pileup crash during a sandstorm Sunday afternoon, Utah Highway Patrol said. The crashes happened on Interstate 15 near the town of Kanosh. The pileup occurred during a period of high winds that caused a dust or sandstorm, which reduced visibility, the highway patrol said. Kanosh is located about 160 miles south of Salt Lake City.
In Utah, after a police officer violently arrested a University of Utah Hospital nurse who refused to allow him to take a blood sample from a patient on July 26th and was all caught on video, went viral, a new policy has been put in place by hospital officials. Announced at a news conference on Monday, the new policy has been put into effect immediately, nurses will now no longer deal with law enforcement directly, and they will now interact with a supervisor who is trained in law and hospital policy.
