Donald Trump paid just $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 – the year he was elected, according to The New York Times. An investigation by the newspaper also claimed that he didn’t pay any income tax at all in 10 of the 15 years before he became president. The claims come just weeks before a divisive election, with early voting already underway.

Swiss Voters Reject EU Immigration Curbs

Swiss voters have resoundingly rejected an attempt to tear up the country’s agreement with the EU on the free movement of people, in a referendum that echoed the Brexit vote. The largest party in the Swiss parliament, the rightwing, anti-immigration Swiss People’s party (SVP), called the referendum, arguing that the country must be allowed to set its own limit on the number of foreigners coming in to work.

Judge Temporarily Blocks U.S. Ban on TikTok

A U.S. judge in Washington has temporarily blocked a Trump administration order banning Apple Inc AAPL.O and Alphabet Inc’s Google GOOGL.O from offering Chinese-owned short video-sharing app TikTok for download that was set to take effect at 11:59 p.m. Sunday. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols granted a preliminary injunction sought by TikTok owner ByteDance to allow the app to remain available at U.S. app stores.

NFL Legend Joe Montana Thwarts Kidnapping Attempt

American football legend Joe Montana and his wife have rescued their nine-month-old grandchild from a kidnapping attempt, authorities say. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the couple confronted a woman who had entered their home and grabbed the child from a playpen. After a “tussle”, officials said the couple were able to retrieve the child.
