E.U. may Block Travelers from America

The European Union could block incoming travelers from the United States even after it partially reopens its borders because the number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. is still too high, two E.U. diplomats said Wednesday. The E.U. has drawn up a draft list of countries whose citizens would be allowed to enter the bloc after June 30 as the continent attempts to reopen amid the pandemic.

North Korea Suspends Military Action Plans Against South Korea

North Korea has decided to suspend military action plans against South Korea, the official KCNA news agency reported on Wednesday, as a report suggested North Korean troops were taking down loudspeakers recently reinstalled at the fortified border. Political tensions between the rival Koreas have been rising over Pyongyang’s objections to plans by defector-led groups in the South to send propaganda leaflets into the North.

FBI Says Bubba Wallace Not a Target of a Hate Crime

The FBI said Tuesday a noose found in the team garage of NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace at the Talladega Superspeedway has been there since last year and he, therefore, is not a victim of a hate crime. NASCAR, mentioning the FBI report, described the item as a “garage door pull rope fashioned like a noose.” Wallace had not publicly responded to the FBI’s finding as of early Tuesday night.

Novak Djokovic has tested positive for coronavirus after hosting a controversial tennis tournament across eastern Europe. The men’s world number one tennis player confirmed his COVID-19 diagnosis in a statement – and defended his decision to host the tour despite the continued prevalence of the disease around the world.
