Noose Found in Bubba Wallace Garage

NASCAR has launched an investigation after a noose was found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace, the only Black driver in the elite Cup Series who just two weeks ago successfully pushed the stock car series to ban the Confederate flag at its venues. NASCAR said the noose was found on Sunday afternoon and vowed to do everything possible to find who was responsible and “eliminate them from the sport.”

Hackers Leak Thousands of Secret FBI and Police Documents

Hackers have leaked almost 270 GB of FBI and police documents online, covering more than 20 years’ worth of potentially sensitive law enforcement information and intelligence. The documents have been collected under the title “BlueLeaks” and were uploaded to the Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets) project, an alternative to WikiLeaks that is popular with so-called hacktivists. The data appears to have been collected following a breach of a web services company in Houston, Texas.

Museum of Natural History to Remove Teddy Roosevelt Statue

The American Museum of Natural History in New York City will remove a statue of former president Theodore Roosevelt from outside its main entrance. The move, announced on Sunday, follows incidents across the US in which statues of Confederate generals and leaders and other historical figures linked to slavery and the dispossession of indigenous Americans have been forcibly removed or destroyed.

Trump Campaign Rejects Low Turnout Manipulation

President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign has rejected claims that a social media campaign by Tik-Tok users and K-Pop fans was behind lower-than-expected turnout for Saturday night’s Oklahoma rally. Teenagers are said to have booked tickets without intending to turn up so as to produce empty seats. But the Trump 2020 team said it had weeded out bogus reservations.

Deadly Stabbing Attack in UK’s Reading is a Terrorist Incident, Police Say

A stabbing attack in the southern English city of Reading is being treated as an act of terrorism, British police said Sunday. The attack, which took place Saturday evening in a public park, left three people dead and another three injured. A 25-year-old man from Reading was arrested for suspected murder Saturday night. Reuters reports that the man is Libyan national Khairi Saadallah.
