Mueller Suggests No Jail Time for Flynn

Special counsel Robert Mueller suggested that President Trump’s former national security adviser should not get any jail time because he has provided ‘substantial assistance’ and ‘first-hand details’ to the Russia investigation. Mueller gave further details about Flynn’s extensive cover-up of his ties to the Turkish government. Flynn’s sentencing is set for December 18th.

Senators Urge Trump to Condemn Khashoggi Murder

After a private CIA briefing on Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s killing South Carolina, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said he had ‘high confidence’ that crown prince Mohammed bin Salman was complicit in the murder. Graham described the Saudi crown prince as ‘crazy.’ Senators urged President Trump to condemn the killing following the initial White House response.

NRCC Confirms Midterm ‘Cyber Intrusion’

Reports that the national organization which elects Republican congressional candidates was the ‘victim of a cyber intrusion’ were confirmed. The intrusion took place during the midterm campaign season this year. The cyber attack was performed by an ‘unknown entity.’ The National Republican Campaign Committee said the FBI is now investigating the intrusion.

France Fuel Tax Rises Postponed

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced fuel tax rises have been postponed for six months following weeks of violent protests by the ‘gilets jaunes’ (yellow vests). Philippe said you would have ‘to be deaf or blind’ to miss the widespread anger. The move was significant coming from President Emmanuel Macron’s government criticized for being unempathetic.

New Caledonia Tsunami Warning Lifted

Following a 7.6 magnitude earthquake off the coast of New Caledonia on Wednesday a tsunami warning was issued for the Pacific island. No damage or injury has been reported according to officials. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center initially observed some tsunami waves along the coast but have since lifted the tsunami warning.

First Baby Born From Womb Transplant from Dead Body

In a historic first a healthy baby was born using a womb transplanted from a dead body. While previous attempts were made the transplants failed or ended in miscarriage. The transplant and fertility treatment took place in 2016 in Brazil on a woman born without a womb. The baby was born last December.
