The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a shocking report on Monday warning that we have just 12 years to limit global warming to a maximum of 1.5C. Extending beyond the maximum will result in droughts, floods, extreme heat and poverty for millions. The authors of the report said urgent change is necessary.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Saudi Arabian officials must prove missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi left the Istanbul consulate amid speculation of murder. Turkish officials said they have ‘concrete proof’ of murder after an investigation. Saudi Arabia denies claims of murder. Erdogan demanded on Monday that Saudi Arabia prove Khashoggi’s exit ‘with footage.’
The second suspect in the Skripal poison attack was revealed to be Alexander Mishkin. Mishkin is a military doctor who works for Russian intelligence. Mishkin reportedly traveled under the alias of Alexander Petrov. Mishkin’s true identity was revealed by UK investigative website Bellingcat. The UK Metropolitan Police Service did not comment on the suspects’ identities.
Former doctor Eduardo Vela, 85, charged with stealing babies and giving them to infertile couples during and after the fascist dictatorship of General Franco, was let off by a Madrid court. The court found that although Vela committed the crimes, too much time had elapsed for a legal conviction. Vela was the first person put on trial for illegal adoptions under General Franco.
Google is closing down much of Google+ after it was revealed that as many as 500,000 users’ data was exposed to third parties due to a bug in the software. Facebook released smart speakers with cameras and microphones for home use in a direct challenge to Amazon, Google, and Apple.
