Typhoon Mangkhut is projected to be the strongest typhoon in the Philippines in 2018 with ten million people in its path.
Gunman Javier Casarez killed 5 people including his ex-wife before killing himself on Thursday in Bakersfield, California. The attacks show ‘strong indications’ of connection to a domestic violence case, but authorities continue to investigate motives. The shootings took place within a 40-minute window and ended when Casarez was confronted by a sheriff’s deputy.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced he has added $2 billion to a charitable fund to help the homeless and create a network of schools. The charity is called the Day One Fund and comes after Bezos was criticized for not doing enough charitable work. The charity will contribute to ‘existing nonprofits that help homeless families.’
